Spring is on the Horizon

Students Learn About the Edible Garden

March 2015

After spending an hour with 80 enthusiastic, curious and knowledgeable young children, I am reassured about the future. As part of the Social Studies program, the grade 1 and 2 students in Silver Springs Elementary School are learning about communities. On February 16, 80 spirited six and seven year olds enjoyed a presentation about the Edible Garden complete with a slide show. Plans are underway for these students to visit the garden later this spring and again in the fall to participate in some “hands on” activities.
